Bath Conservative Future Patron

On the 22nd March 2007, Fabian Richter was selected by local people as the Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Bath in an Open Primary held at St. John’s Hall on Pulteney Road. The decision was unanimously approved by members of the local Conservative association. Fabian said that he was ‘delighted’ to become the Patron for our society.

About Fabian

Patron, Bath Conservative Parliamentary Candidate

Fabian is Patron to Bath Conservative Future. He is 34 years old and a former Chief of Staff to David Willetts MP, the former Shadow Education Secretary, in the House of Commons. Before that, he was a consultant in the financial services industry.

He has been involved in voluntary politics for many years, having led the North Southwark and Bermondsey constituency in London and having twice stood for the local council. After leaving school, he also spent a year working full time for a charity helping elderly and disabled people.

In his spare time he enjoys cooking for friends, offset by regular rounds of squash, and he hopes to become a regular at the Theatre Royal in Bath.

The day after Fabian’s selection, David Cameron took the opportunity to visit Bath to give a speech and discuss research undertaken on environmental and sustainability issues with researchers at the University of Bath. Mr Cameron’s speech, which was held in the Wansdyke Hall in Saltford, discussed environmental issues and how he was trying to reach out to liberal voters who had in the past voted Lib Dem, but needed to get behind the Conservative government in waiting and stop the authoritarian Labour party, headed by Gordon Brown.

Afterwards Mr Cameron said, ‘We have a good candidate in Fabian’ and wished him every success in his quest to win Bath from the Liberal Democrats.
